01 Your right to delete
You can delete any message, or your entire ForLater account, at any time. When you do, we remove your content from our active systems and, within the period described below, from backups. You don't need a reason, and you won't be charged to delete your data.
02 Delete your account in the app
- Open ForLater and go to Settings.
- Tap Account, then Delete account.
- Confirm with Face ID or your passcode.
- Your messages and account are scheduled for permanent deletion.
Deleting your account removes all of your stored messages. This cannot be undone.
03 Delete a single message
To remove just one message without closing your account: open the message in your library, tap the ••• menu, and choose Delete. You can delete a message at any point before it has been sent. If a message has already been delivered, you can switch off its link before it has been opened.
04 Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll help:
To protect your privacy, we may take steps to verify your identity before acting on an emailed request.
05 What gets deleted
- Your recorded video messages and their thumbnails.
- Recipients, scheduled dates, and notes attached to your messages.
- Your account profile and authentication details.
- Trusted-contact information you provided.
06 What we may retain
We may keep a limited set of records where the law requires it — for example, certain transaction or tax records — and minimal logs needed for security. Any retained data is kept only as long as necessary and is not used to reconstruct your deleted messages. [Confirm specific retention obligations with counsel.]
